Can't make it to D.C. on October 30 for Daily Show host Jon Stewart's Rally to Restore Sanity? No worries. Kansas City is holding a satellite rally at Mill Creek Park also on the 30th.
Only eight people have signed up on the group's Facebook page so far, so maybe people aren't ready to give up the idea that "Obama is Hitler" or "George W. Bush planned 9/11."
But if you are ready to let all that go, then head to 47th and J.C. Nichols Parkway on the 30th around 11 a.m. Everyone is invited, as long as you're willing to play nice: "Whatever your political party, join us for some stimulating and civil conversation and fun. Bring signs, but please be kind. Let our voices of reason be heard! ~Peace~"
Not sure what this is all about? Stewart announced on The Daily Show that he wanted to dial down the crazy rhetoric.

Props to Becky Burton Carleton for setting this up. Go get your sanity back.

I'm kind of outraged, but I'm busy that day . . . could we maybe make it the next weekdend?
The facebook group is up to 60, so we're up to a modestly large gathering.
The last picnic of the year: fried chicken with a side of rational discourse. Bring a jacket!
I'd rather sit at home and watch the Rally for Sanity in DC
I'm not setting up anything to watch the DC rally from our KC rally. People with smartphones could watch from those, I suppose. I'm just bringing a cleverly civil sign, a lawn chair, some bottled water, and my sense of humor. You don't have to be on Facebook to join us. Hope to see you there.
