Kevin Durant declines LeBron James' invitation to party at The Midland

Expect Kevin Durant to drive past LeBron James a lot tonight.
  • Expect Kevin Durant to drive past LeBron James a lot tonight.
Expect Kevin Durant to drive past LeBron James a lot tonight.
This is why Kevin Durant is better than LeBron James (and Dwyane Wade, but he's really not in the conversation). This is why Durant is the best basketball player in the world.

While King James was partying at The Midland and D-Wade was living it up at Luna last night, Durant was laying low. James invited Durant to party with him. Durant said no thanks.

Durant told The Oklahoman: "I don't go out to parties the day before a game. I really don't go out too much during the season."

That's focus, people. Durant's Oklahoma City Thunder gave eventual NBA World Champions the Lose Angeles Lakers fits in last year's playoffs. They're young and hungry (to borrow the cliche). But it's true.

Durant will get a chance to prove that rest has its rewards tonight as his Seattle SuperSonics Oklahoma City Thunder take one James' Miami Heat. As previously noted, D-Wade won't be playing due to a hamstring injury.

Fantasy basketball geeks, take note. That's why Durant is No. 1.

This blog is untrue - Durant was invited by The Entertainment Company who hosted the event. Get the facts before you write.

haha. thats why they KD and the lucky thunders got warped out of whack by the "Burmuda Triangle" ...come to think of it, it wasnt even much of a traingle...yet.

wake me up whenever KD can possibly win 75 games in a season...just like what lebron is going to do starting in a couple of weeks.

I still can't believe Portland took Oden ahead of Durant. It was the same old tired, "you need a stud big man in today's NBA" BS. Now it's, "you need a stud point guard". Right, like the 2-time defending champion Lakers.

By the way, has there ever been a bigger difference in apparent age between the #1 and #2 NBA draft picks? Oden looked (and moved) like he was 42 while Durant still looks 16.
