In the video, Phelps says:
"Now Westboro Baptist Church has an imprecatory prayer for Steve Six. We're asking the dear Lord to visit this great shame back on his head. We pray that God will hear this man when he talks and repay him double for his evil in your face rebellion against God."For you masochists, here's the full video.
To say the least, this is all crazy and creepy.

This Westboro Baptist Church says they hate the Gay-Community.
But, they also hate African Americans, Dr. & Mrs. King, Canada, Sweden, the
Fire Department of N.Y., victims of 911, other Christian churches, the pope,
Judaism, America, our American troops and the list goes on and on. Many of the
groups they despise are specifically named on their hate propaganda, picket
signs and their many websites. They not only hate, but wish death on all whom
they abhor.
This so-called “church” spreads its hate through picketing in
our streets, provoking attacks, with abusive language and flag desecration,
attempting to create a confrontation. This is not about protesting, this is
about a life of hate. They are in it for the money and the press. They are not a "church." They go
after any thing that can get them in the news. This group will protest anything
to get its face on TV or in the news. This group is lost in the darkness of
hate, and will put there children in danger to shield themselves.
These people protest at the funerals of our troops. Do we have a
real need to protest at any funeral? Is that a real freedom?
The city of Topeka, the state of Kansas and the U.S. at large,
its citizens and their churches, schools and events are all held hostage by
this "hate group."-always at the tax payer's expense.
Phineas, I hate you for saying that. And you have no right whatsoever to support Phelps and/or any other hatemonger in the world!
I saw that Phelps coming out of Dicks sporting goods....oh hell!
Supporter of WBC:
Maybe we should get together some time for coffee??? Bring a helmet!
This just shows what a violent, demonic soul Phelps is, I wish it were the only soul-killing he has attempted.
Google: ADDICTED TO HATE, an expose on Phelps and his demented family, to read how he rejoiced at a 17 year old girl's death, how he nearly beat Nate, one of his sons to death. He swindled clients and was disbarred by both Kansas and the Federal Courts, forced his children to sell candy door to door, even in bad weather until late at night, harassed opponents with unfounded lawsuits, was sued for refusing to pay for the candy his kids sold, and on and on.
Wish we could send Pastor Phelps to live with Phineas in NZ!
I love Pastor Phelps and the WBC. I only wished I lived in the USA so I could attend their church. To my mind they are scriptually perfect and spirtually pure. I'd watch out Americans; if I was you.
So, Justin which of the choices did this Phelps moron mean... or did you take a bit of 'blogger liberty' when writing the headline and draw the worst of the assumptions, that he was talking about 'killing', as opposed to just 'damning' him or doing some other 'bad stuff'?
Woe be me to defend the likes of Pfred Pfelps, but words are important and you've set off my BS detector now TWICE in one week.
I think you need an editor to check your work before you publish.
Justin Kendall says:
@Radioman, An imprecatory prayer is like an evil curse, asking God to kill, maim, eternally damn or just do bad stuff to someone.
Phelps' pursuit of happiness is to watch America burn.
So why does he want us to change our ways if it is too late?
His logic is absolutely flawed.
We also have the freedom to be free of the mentally deranged when they pose a threat to us or themselves.
Did Fred Phelps murder and rape a young girl in 1993?
Seriously, If we really hate these people and want to teach them a lesson, find out where they are going and go yourself with a crowd, En masse, with the dumbest signs ever, and I don't mean tea-party misspelled stupid, I mean "I like Ponies" and "Gawd is SUPER COOL" in Glitter. These people would need to be unbelievably happy and hopeful and give out delicious cookies. It is important that they remember to kill with kindness and to make these people realize they can hate all they want, but most of America believes in peace, happiness, and above all, common decency.
Anybody talking about how they have freedom of speech isn't paying attention to the link..our freedoms are linked to the freedoms of others, including a person's right to the pursuit of happiness(which includes the grieving process.)
What Fred Phelps does is harrassment, pure and simple. Praying on people's emotions when they are at their most vulnerable(when they're burying their loved ones). At the VERY LEAST, it's an abomination to his own faith. However, it's also counter-intuitive. Nobody believes what you say when you only pray on the weak. Let's face it, Fred Phelps is a phony, who will never gain followers who aren't family/family-of-family. It will NEVER grow because HE never grew up.
I'm an athiest. Fred's words have no meaning to me. However, he does have the right to assemble in public and protest however he wants. It's a first amendment right or did we forget the Constitution? So if you want to get back at Fred, you have to beat him at his own game. They love the attention. The more outrageous, the better. They are also all lawyers that nitpick every little law so they can push it to the limit.
The media and the public give this nutjob and his inbred family a voice. Starve them their attention and they go away as the irrelevant and worthless humans they are.
Hey, Fred? Come on down to OKC and let's chat in person. Come try and protest me. Some of us aren't afraid of you or your legal hounds. I'll bet I can can get my point across no matter how many "family" members you bring.
I'm sorry Freddie, but I don't think your imaginary friend is going to help you out.
I think we should all be praying for Fred Phelps. He has gay sperms.
Well, at least it was only prayer, which for all time, has had no effect whatsoever.
Sound like a threat against a public figure. Are there laws against that?
Better hope not, or we'll need a lot more prisons to hold all the teabaggers praying for Obama's death.
God hates fags and the westboro baptist church has the freedom of speech
Sound like a threat against a public figure. Are there laws against that?
The Phelps family is smarter than anyone that gives a shit about what they do. They are attention whores more than religious, and they make money all the time in court after provoking people into assaults. First Amendment is more important than misguided hurt feelings. Easier said than done considering I have never had someone protest my dead son's funeral.
JUSTIN: don't give Fred the pleasure, write about Amber Ale's release or the earnings tax or how NOT to get murdered in the Westport area after midnight.
Well, Six's laws would chip away at our freedom of expression. One thing I will say about the Phelps Clan: We may not like what they have to say, but they definitely make us aware of Just How Free We Really Are to Say Whatever in the Hell We Want. That freedom is under constant pressure to be controlled by whoever, for whatever reason. The persons/reasons have changed over the years, but the pressure remains just the same.
@Radioman, An imprecatory prayer is like an evil curse, asking God to kill, maim, eternally damn or just do bad stuff to someone.
Kind of an arrogant guy, to presume he speaks for God as a prophet! Wouldn't ya know that he not only embarrasses Christians, but older people.
And of course our King James speaker just HAD to come from Kansas, which has enough PR problems after Vern Miller's liquor on planes and trains antics years ago when the state was dry!
I didn't actually hear Fred the Elder actually SAY to kill Six, but it does sell papers, doesn't it? He's one of those Christians who suffered a split personality after the Council of Trent bound both the Old Testament and the New Testament in the same book.
Obviously The Phelps Family is an old Testament religious debomination. Er, deNomination. I just love all that smiting, don't you? Clearly Fred does. And he knows his Old Testament by chapter and verse, huh?
When will our "trusted" media finally realize that the more publisity they give to this clan, the crazier they get.
Ignore them! Their "freedom of speech" does not include the media picking up on every utterance from these "christians". Let them whoop and holler all they want - just don't give them the air time or print. Without the free publicity, their only audience will be themselves, and they will be consumed by their own hatred.
Fred Phelps has been COMPLETELY unhinged for a while now. The rocker, which holds most of us, broke on him a while ago...Insert further cliche here.
Fred Phelps is a shame to humanity. I'm a deist, so I don't believe in ALL of Christianity in the first place, but Fred Phelps is in a WHOLE NOTHER WORLD. Why would God be a hitman, when He doesn't even intercede on behalf of His creation in the first place?
Fred Phelps may be begging God to take Steve Six, but I bet the vast number of people praying to God to PLEEZ take Fred Phelps far outweighs any plea Phelps can make. Do you ever wonder why people like that old buzzard are allowed to continue to live and alienate other people? I guess it is to make the rest of us grateful that he is not in our house or related to us.
Let's face it, the laws are meant just for the Phelps family.
Which would mean they're prohibited by the Constitution. Article 1, Section 9 clearly prohibits the passage of a Bill of Attainder.
You know, for people who spend so much time singing the praises of the Constitution, y'all sure don't seem to know much about it.
Anybody else remember back when your Social Security number was private information you didn't have to share with anyone except the Social Security Administration? You know how that changed? Deadbeat dads. It was sold to the public as "we need this tool to get those deadbeat dads" and most citizens were all for it. And of course, once the change was made, it wasn't long before it applied to everybody, not just deadbeat dads. Now everybody uses your SS# to track you, leading to an epidemic of identity theft that couldn't have happened under the old rules.
This is how they sneak this stuff past the public - it's initially targeted at a despised minority nobody cares about. Once it's in place, well, it wouldn't be fair for it not to apply to everybody, right?
Your masters are using the Phelps clan in an attempt to do away with freedom of speech, and you can bank on the fact that if they're allowed to get away with it, Fred Phelps won't be the last target.
