Authorities in northwest Missouri are on a manhunt for three inmates who escaped from the Daviess/DeKalb County Regional Jail in Pattonsburg.
Carlos Sarmiento, Nicholas McCleary and Timothy Baudour didn't chisel their way out a la Andy Dufresne. No, they just slipped out under a fence around 8 p.m. Sunday. So be alert and keep your eyes out for three men with interesting taste in ink.
All three have tattoos. Some, as our friends at the Riverfront Times pointed out, are scarier than others.
The 57-year-old Sarmiento, convicted in 2009 of killing a man witha hammer, wears a cross tattoo on his upper right chest, Spanish words
on his right arm, and a lady in a sombrero on his upper left arm.
McCleary, 26, has a swastika tattoo and a skull on his chest, atear drop tat below his right eye, two lightning bolts under his left
eye and a maltese cross on on his left hand.
Baudour, 34, sports a "Midwest Hustler" tattoo on his stomach, amap of Mexico on his upper chest and a tattoo of the cartoon character
Tigger on his right arm.
Tiggers are wonderful things.
UPDATE: Authorities caught escaped inmate Nicholas McCleary in northwest area of Daviess
County around noon Tuesday, according to Fox
4. Two other inmates are still on the loose. McCleary was the inmate with the scary tatts. He has a swastika and a
skull on his chest, a tear drop below his right eye, two lightning bolts
under his left eye and a maltese cross on on his left hand.
UPDATE II: KCTV5 reported that convicted killer Carlos Sarmiento and Tigger tattooed Timothy Baudour were captured Tuesday afternoon.
The Kansas City Star has a nice run down of how the escape worked out. On October 19, Baudour allegedly called his girlfriend, Samantha Bulson, and asked her to call Kayla Evans in a bit of telephone. Evans told Bulson that Baudour was planning to make a jailbreak, and she allegedly needed a ride to the Walmart in Cameron to buy a piar of Stanley six-inch diagonal cutting pliers. The purchase was caught on video surveillance.
Bulson, 20, and Evans, 19, are "each charged with conspiring to aid in the escape of a prisoner confined for a felony." Also, they stand accused of having really bad taste in men.Evans later purportedly acknowledged to
[DeKalb County Sheriff Wes] Raines that she had taken the wire cutters
to the jail and dropped them
outside.
