Nothing rings in the holidays like your local weatherman dusting off his ice skates, eating it with the cameras rolling, and then being teased mercilessly by his on-air coworkers.

Fox 4 meteorologist Don Harman was looking awfully uncomfortable yesterday bundled up in hockey garb while shooting a promo for the Missouri Mavericks. Better at talking about ice than skating on it, he slipped and broke his wrist.

In an interview with his coworkers, Harman paints a cloudy picture of

what it means for a weatherman to lose use of his wrist. "It's my right

wrist, which is my pointer finger. My left hand is my clicker. They

are both instrumental to my career," he said with a 30 percent chance of

tears.

But Harman had the metaphorical umbrella in his car. "I have a $1 million policy on my right pointer hand, just for events like that," he said excitedly.

"You are on a lot of meds, aren't you," said one of the anchors. (Check out the video here,

where Fox shows the spill 11 times.)

On a related note, today is the seasonal opening of Crown Center Ice Terrace. Bring your own insurance.
