David Love was supposedly a man of God. He was a pastor at the New Hope Baptist Church but after a member of his flock was found shot to death, Love became a person of interest.
On Tuesday afternoon, Love was arrested in South Carolina on a Jackson County murder warrant. KMBC Channel 9 reported that Love tried to run from authorities serving the warrant but officers tackled him and took him into custody. UPDATE: Love has been indicted for first-degree murder and armed criminal action for allegedly killing Randy Stone.
On March 31, Randy Stone, 42, was found shot to death inside his
Farmer's Insurance office in Independence. David Love
reportedly presided over Stone's funeral and gave the eulogy. But then things got weird.
In April, Love resigned as pastor after Independence
police executed a search warrant at his church. They also searched Love's
home as well as the home of Stone's wife, Teresa Stone. Family members of the Stones told reporters that Teresa Stone admitted having a 10-year affair with the pastor.
Love, 50, is being held in a
Spartanburg jail, awaiting extradition back to Independence.
