It's hard not to feel your heart sink when you hear a story like this one. Syah D. Duffey, a 2-year-old Cassy County girl, was abducted this morning.
KMBC Channel 9 reports
that an Amber Alert has been issued for Duffey after a heavy set white
woman in a dirty white van with Iowa license plates allegedly kidnapped
Duffey from 202 Broadway in East Lynne around 8:30 a.m.
The suspect is believed to be in her twenties or thirties and was last seen wearing a gray sweater and blue jeans. That's all we know about the suspect so far.
Duffey's clothes are described as a Mickey Mouse shirt and blue jeans.
If you've seen Duffey or have information about her disappearance, call 911 or the the Cass County Sheriff's Office at 816-380-5200.
"At no time did she say she was from DFS or we're here to take your kid.No word on charges yet. What happened was, it was pre-arranged between Jim and the mother,
Sharon, because Jim didn't want to get in trouble. He was actually
working under the advice of DFS, they said if she hands over the kid
we'll not even get involved," said Russo. "Here we've got a guy who is
really done nothing wrong but try to protect his child and we've wasted
resources, huge resources on a child that's not really been abducted."
