Dwayne Bowe hasn't been doing a lot of talking -- or any -- since the off-season when he claimed his veteran teammates like to fly groupies in for road games. Of course, the Chiefs wide receiver claimed he was misquoted after (and who wouldn't when you're in a locker room full of large men who probably now have angry significant others at their throats).
After yesterday's 31-13 win over the lowly Arizona Cardinals, Bowe opened his mouth wide -- and his teammates and coaches probably wish he'd have kept up the silent treatment.
Bowe caught two touchdown passes on Sunday (including a 38-yard pass from Matt Cassel), so he was probably jacked after getting a big win and felt like talking. D-Bowe tried to take a page out of The Athlete's Book of Cliched Quotes with a bit of humble"keeping my head down" talk. Then he said the Chiefs are going to win the Super Bowl (via the Star):
"Definitely we're going to win it all," he said. "I can't guarantee it, but I can tell you we're going to win it all."
Dwayne, maybe you should go back to the silent treatment. You're 6-4. The two weeks before, your team lost to division rivals Oakland and Denver. You're just barely holding on to a one-game lead on the AFC West. You probably want to take your own advice and keep your head down, catch some balls and close your mouth.
Aww, hell. It's hard to be mad at you after yesterday's performance. So here's to you, D-Bowe.
