The state of Kansas isn't screwing around with sex offenders. Take 58-year-old Robert Donald Clark Jr. He was convicted last December of sexually assaulting a child younger than 14.
Clark received a life sentence on Monday, according to the Topeka Capital-Journal. If he long enough to try for parole, which he has a possibility of in 25 years, he'll be 83.
"This sentence all but guarantees that a dangerous sexual offender will be permanently removed from our community," District Attorney Chad Taylor told the Cap-Journal. "Life imprisonment is a well-deserved sentence for a person who preyed on multiple children and violated all boundaries of trust and decency. Our hope is that this sentence serves as some measure of justice for the victims and their loved ones."
Let's just hope the kids get the help they need to move on from these horrible acts.
