UPDATE: The death of the man found decapitated under the Interstate 635 bridge has been rule a suicide by the Wyandotte County coroner. The Star explains how (and it's not pretty): "The man had jumped off a bridge near Interstate 635 at the Missouri River with a rope around his neck, the coroner said."

Original Story (December 8): Gruesome discovery near the Missouri River yesterday. A man's decapitated body was found under the Interstate 635 bridge in Kansas City, Kansas, around 3 p.m. Tuesday.

Police are calling this a "death investigation," so we'll have to wait to find out if foul play was involved. KCTV5 reported that the head was found near the body.

We don't know a lot about the headless man other than he was white. His name hasn't been released.

If you have a tip about this guy's death, call the KCKPD's  Major Case Unit at 913-573-6020 or the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-8477.
