U.S. Sen. Kit Bond and his Senate Republican buddies have vowed to block all legislation until the Bush-era tax cuts get approved. Count a victory of all of the money bags out there. All legislation is so encompassing that it even includes blocking the 9/11 first responders bill -- which would have provided medical aid to sick and dying first responders and workers.
For folks who sure loved to use 9/11 to get elected, this seems like an odd stand, and even surprised The Daily Show's Jon Stewart, which has to be an amazing feat at this point since he's seen some shit.
"You couldn't even get 60 senators to agree to vote on the 9/11
responders bill, because the top two percent of Americans haven't
officially received their engraved notifications that their taxes won't
go up 4 percent?" Stewart asked. "That's the principled pledge you want
to stand by? 'Bros before heroes?'"
Bond doesn't get called out by name, but he's "GOP Senate 4 Life" or whatever the lame faction of the GOP's NWO likes to say.
Back to you, Jon.
