  • Is Bubba Cunningham the new A.D. at Kansas?

The man replacing Lew Perkins as athletic director at the University of Kansas is Tulsa A.D. Bubba Cunningham, according to Sports By Brooks.

Sports By Brooks cited an unnamed Big 12 athletic director, who claimed the announcement could come as soon as Wednesday. Nothing official from the university, but it's being reported by just about every media outlet on both sides of the state line.

More via SBB:

Cunningham's deal with Kansas has not been consummated but he recently met with the approval of the KU administration following a meeting with Kansas Chancellor Bernadette Gray-Little this week.

As I reported last week, base annual pay for the position is expected to be $750,000.

Cunningham has been A.D. at Tulsa for the last five years. He was previously at Ball State (maybe Jason Whitlock will weigh in!).

Guess we'll find out tomorrow if Sports By Brooks' report is true.

With a name like Bubba, what could possibly go wrong?
Wasn't that Lew's secret nickname?
