Multiple reports say Matt Cassel was practicing with the Chiefs this morning. That's the good news.
The bad news, KMBC Channel 9 reports that Cassel, who had his appendix removed a week ago and missed the 31-0 ass whooping from the San Diego Chargers, called his status "day-to-day."
"I'd like to think 99.99 percent sure, but there's a lot of medical professionals weighing in so I'm still day-to-day," Cassel told KMBC.
Red Zone reports that Cassel looked a little slow and he only threw one deep pass "with a strong zip."
Still, Cassel practicing is a good sign for the Chiefs, who are clinging to a one-game lead on the AFC West, as they prepare for Sunday's road game with the St. Louis Rams. Still, a half-speed Cassel would probably beat Brodie Croyle's performance last week. Sixty-seven yards of total offense. Never forget.
