The word "turmoil" doesn't begin to describe the Iowa Hawkeyes' break before the Insight Bowl game with the Missouri Tigers. The latest distraction for the Hawks is the arrest of already suspended running back Adam Robinson.

It's another unneeded distraction for the Hawks, who are already without Derrell Johnson-Koulianos, their all-time leading receiver who was arrested for "keeping a drug house," and running back Jewel Hampton, who transferred.

Robinson was arrested by the Iowa Highway Patrol on Monday night for marijuana possession, The Des Moines Register reported. The trooper stopped the car Robinson was a passenger in for a missing front license plate. The trooper smelled marijuana, searched the car and found pot.

The driver, 20-year-old Ermin Zornic, was reportedly charged with

"possession with intent to deliver marijuana and operating while

intoxicated, pending toxicology tests."

Robinson was released -- although he's due back in court on January 5. Iowa suspended Robinson -- the team's leading rusher -- earlier this month for "failing to comply with team expectations and policies" -- whatever that means.

On December 7, DJK was arrested after police raided his residence and found a whole lot of prescription drugs that didn't belong to him along

with marijuana, cocaine, more than $3,000 in cash, a digital scale and

more.

DJK reportedly admitted to police that he smoked marijuana, used cocaine and popped the prescription pills. He also allegedly "admitted he knew drugs were being used and likely sold out of the residence."

The Cedar Rapids Gazette reported that police believe DJK sold "large amounts" of marijuana."

U of I administrators later admitted that "some Hawkeye athletes likely have avoided detection of drug usage," the Register reported.

I've never seen a bowl team gift wrap a game with off-the-field arrests like the Hawkeyes this year.
