In a disturbingly sad story out of Lebanon, Missouri, two children and their mother were discovered dead next to one another in their house last Thanksgiving.
Autopsy reports released yesterday show that Marissa Morgan, 5, and Izaiah Trevino, 5 months, had both received a fatal dose of Xanax, according to the Springfield News-Leader. Their mother Sharon Trevino, 28, appears to have shot herself in the head.
The three bodies were found by the grandmother and
great-grandfather of the children. They had come by to check on the
family after not hearing from the mother.
The father of the children, Joshua Trevino, lived with the family in the fall, but had moved out. He had visited his family just two days before the double
homicide-suicide.
Trevino has two other children, but thankfully neither witnessed the deaths.
It's a tragic ending to an unknowable story.
