UPDATE: Latasha Hutchinson has been charged with first-degree involuntary manslaughter and armed criminal action in the death of Andre Steele. Witnesses told police that Hutchinson, Steele and others were partying when someone handed her a gun. She pointed it at Steele, believing it wasn't loaded, and shot him in the chest. Kansas City's homicide total reached six for 2011 on Saturday. The second homicide victim of the day, 29-year-old Andre Steele, was fatally wounded at 69th and Prospect around 4 a.m.
Steele was rushed to Research Medical Center and later died from his wounds.
Kansas City police haven't released any suspect information, but if you have information that can help solve this case, call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-8477.
UPDATE: Hutchinson first lied to the police, claiming she found Steele shot at 69th and Prospect. She later came clean.
A witness told police that Hutchinson was talking about wanting to buy a gun, so he handed her one. The witness said she was waving the gun around, so he took it away from her. Minutes later, she had the gun again, pulled the slide back and it went off, hitting Steele.
Hutchinson loaded Steele into her car and rushed him to Research.

Yes this happened because of plain IGNORANCE! Involuntarily manslaughter is not the correct charge. Its crazy, she lied to the police, the resident cleaned up the scene she had the gun taken away from her once and then she got it back? That seems like murder to me! And being the widow of a man that was murdered. The justice system is screwed! Its amazing to me how these heartless people have nothing better to do besides get on the internet and post heartless posts about something they have no idea about.
