Every state sucks at something, and Missourians suck most with money

  • Everyone's the worst at something.

It's never fun being last place, but every state has its Achilles' heel.

Turns out Missouri's is keeping hold of its cash, as it has the highest bankruptcy rate in the country. Nationally, an average of 380 people out of 100,000 file for bankruptcy. The Missouri stats are nearly twice as high at 700.

Sure, we ain't got enough money. But there are worse things to be the worst at, especially among our neighboring states.

Pleated Jeans made a map of the "United States of Shame," which showcases the one thing every state fails at harder than any other state. We're reproduced the map below:

To our north, Iowa has the largest population over age 85. Kansas is the least healthy state, its residents sitting on their asses the most days per month: 3.5. (Interestingly, chunky actress Kirstie Alley is moving to Kansas specifically to lose weight.) Oklahomans have the highest percentage of female incarceration. And no one robs like someone from Illinois, where 285 out of 100,000 are thieves.

What's a little money mismanagement compared with our dying, sickly, criminal neighbors? Seriously. It's hard to believe we share borders with these people.
