I'm not advocating either side in this comment but I find it ironic that many here are bashing and calling Lou Engle names to show how "bad" a guy he is. All Engle is doing (from his perspective) is trying to help the homosexual community. The only things he has said, shared here, says nothing violently attacking any gays; the only true offense that could be raised at him is that his comments are slightly offensive. At the same time if this charge is made the position of the accuser must also be looked at and from the comments of many on this wall the conclusion does not look good. I am not trying to say any of you who have commented are wrong neither am I saying Engle's views are wrong either; what I am saying is that when speaking on an issue, especially one that is as close as it appears to be to some of your hearts, kind, well stated, respectful arguments with the proper research is what wins the battle and respect. Name calling and attacks on either side will not cause any positive outcome. I am not trying to promote any other idea here than that if we want to make an effective argument that does not contradict itself we must do so politely and respectfully.
Fred Phelps & family and many of you posters agree on the idea that homosexuality is unchangeable. People that believe homosexual practice is wrong BUT believe sexual orientation can change, like Lou Engle, are hated by Phelps, who also hates and attacks ex-gays like some of you do. So some of you agree with Phelps! Strange world....gays and Phelps agreeing...
