A Kansas City man is in critical condition after being shot at least twice during a home invasion early Sunday morning. KCTV5 reported that the man "was trying to protect his family and home" at East 86th Street and Winchester Avenue.
The man was reportedly shot at least twice during a struggle with an intruder. It's a scary story that only gets more disturbing when you find out that there were several children in the home, and a gun was reportedly held to the head of one child.
According to KMBC, the man was in bed when two intruders broke into the home, and a family member told neighbors about the child being held at gunpoint. KMBC reported that the man was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, but his condition has improved to stable.
KCTV5 says neighbors heard up to five shots, but no one saw the intruder. If you have info that can help police track down the intruder, call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-8477.
