The dust settles on yet another battle in the ongoing war over nudity in Missouri this week. A Cole County Circuit Court judge has sided with the state attorney general's office in a motion for summary judgment, meaning that the adult industry's claims that a bill barring nudity in strip clubs violated the U.S. Constitution were rejected.
The decision hardly caught the industry off-guard. "This is what we expected," Bazooka's owner Dick Snow wrote in an e-mail to The Pitch.
For months now, Missouri's strip clubs and adult bookstores have been laboring under restrictions on nudity and alcohol sales introduced in a bill by former Lee's Summit state Sen. Matt Bartle. (See the feature "Exit Boobies," for more on that.)
This latest court rejection means the end of the case in circuit court, but hardly the end of the road for the industry. An appeal to the Missouri Supreme Court is already planned, and industry attorney Dick Bryant has said he'll have motions filed within 30 days.
In the meantime, we'd remind you that Kansas City's strip clubs are still open and manage to do a lot under the restrictions. To say more would just ruin the sense of adventure. If you believe in freedom and want to contribute to the legal fund, swing by and find out for yourself.

Just what I thought too - some Religious Nut-Bag Zealot most likely a GOP Conserative Neo-Con Religious Fanatic on the Band Wagon to futher their Political Phony Agenda, at the Expense of everyone else ! These Clubs pay Taxes - Property Taxes - Income Taxes - license fee's - Liquor License Fees - enterainment license fees - Utilties - employ people - doormen - to bar tenders - to waitresses & Dancers & Security - their Jobs that will go away once these Religious Nut Bag Zealots attempt to Destroy them, so they can futher their Phony Corrupt Ridlicious Corrupt Political Agenda, on the back of others at their expense and demise as well ! Why aren't these Same Religious Zealous Whack-Jobs, worried about all the ILLEGALS in their state's - and the amount of Drugs and Drug Cartels , because their very Afraid, thats why to even touch base on that issue, so its easier to maybe find a weaker link in the chain, that'll futher their phony Political Agenda, without anyone catching on to or knowing what their really up to, and their phony ill Agenda ~! Why is it, all of a Sudden these Clubs are a problem, but they weren't say 10 - 15 even 20 years ago ?? Why Now -? All of a Sudden ?? ask em to explain that one, and ask em' how much actual Tax Revenue the states will lose once their closed - they won't have a true difintive answer - just fabricated lies and Rhetoric ~! Time to take a stand against these Phony Political Corrupt Creatures - and Kick em' right out of office !!!
I don't think the "problem" centers around who goes or why someone works there. To each their own. Throwing stones is redundant.
The real deal is that legislators and those who follow them against anything "adult" comes from them not wanting their sons/daughters, or significant others to have the freedom to go there. Because they WILL, and they DO. And since they cannot control/manipulate their own relationships, they then want to eliminate their choices.
Yeah, that's freedom. (or the American version) *sad*
Give me a fucking break with the "we should have strip clubs because this is how girls put themselves through school". If you like strip clubs, and you are the type of jackoff that needs to pay a two bit whore to get your socks off, then own it. Don't hide behind the economy and politics. And do I mind strip clubs? Not really, at least the type of dudes that are rallying to keep them open are there, picking up on chicks who laugh at them, and stay away from the likes of me and my friends.
Here is what I think. I think that some senetor or congressman got caught by his wife in a strip club. So he "oh honey its not my fault! Im the victim! I must go on a crusade to shut down this evil establishment of the devil because I love you honey and respect all women!" and she says "Oh yea honey your the victim, you do that and I wil lforgive you! Good for you baby!" In all honesty i dont see a problem with nude strip clubs. It was a way alot of girls supported themsleves or their families or got thru school. If you have an objection to it just DONT GO!!! You have the right and freedom in this country to NOT GO INTO A BUILDING IF YOU CHOOSE NOT TO!! They already have no windows and you cant see in unless you go in anyway. So stop being dicks and prudes and get over yourselves and let the bude clubs come back. Do you realize how much revenue they would generate for the economy? damn......
