Last month, we asked readers to close their blinds, zip up their pants, and click through our first-ever sex survey, in an attempt to surmise how Kansas City gets down.
Click you did: About 1,100 people completed the survey, providing an amusing (if slightly unscientific view) of Kansas City's collective sex life. We'll reveal the results on Wednesday, but in the meantime, we figured we'd give you a glimpse at how you answered one question:
It's Friday night in Kansas City and you absolutely have to get some. Where do you go?
The most popular response was some variation of our culture's greatest
romantic incubator: the Bar. Several people answered "a bar" or "a
club" or "anywhere there's drinking and dancing." Others singled out specific, target-rich neighborhoods: Power & Light was the most popular, followed by Westport.
A few specific bars were mentioned by name, including Tootsie's, Missie B's and our 2010 Best Bar for a One-Night Stand, Buzzard Beach, where, if I'm to believe its reputation, the bartenders give out hand jobs with every domestic pint.
Another
popular answer was "home," "bed," "my girlfriend's/boyfriend's," and
other answers that seemed to indicate respondents safely in the Regular
Sex Zone.
Also popular was technology: specifically the cell
phone (to "text one of about five guys") and the computer, where
several men -- and exactly zero women -- said they would throw a
hookup Hail Mary on Craigslist or Backpage.

- "If I knew that, I wouldn't tell anyone."
- "I'm a female. A redhead with huge tits. I dont have to go anywhere. They come to me."
