  • Cocaine or bath salts? Only your drug dealer knows for sure.

Last week, Kansas cops and politicians were making headlines for calling for bans on a few chemicals sold as bath salts but really meant to mimic the effects of cocaine and meth.

Because there have been a couple of deaths tied to it, I was a big pussy and opted not to snort the bath salts. Luckily, one fun-loving reader took me up on my offer to send in a review, so you can all know whether it's worth the risk. Our voluntary tester, who identified himself as John, was not impressed.

Here's an excerpt from John's e-mail:

There are several compounds that are sold as Ivory Wave and other bath salts. The main culprits are mephedrone and MDPV.  But, there are 5 or 6 related compounds that are also used.

I've personally used mephedrone, MDPV, and another related compound which has escaped the sensationalism that the above two have endured.

You requested a description of the effects. They are as follows:

Mephedrone: Obtained in a pure crystal form from an online vendor. Somewhat euphoric, stimulating, but overall had a 'dirty' feeling I didn't like. Caused tightness in my chest area and a rapid heartbeat. Despite the reports in the media, this compound is strictly speedy and doesn't make one hallucinate unless one overdoes it or is strung out on it for days at a time. I did it a few times and thought it was total garbage! I never bought it again! But, I would consider doing it again.

MDPV: This is the WORST drug I have ever done. And I'd consider myself very experienced when it comes to uppers, downers, and hallucinogens! I obtained a powder form of this drug from an online vendor. It made my brain feel super stimulated, yet my body felt completely lethargic. It didn't make me happy, it just sort of put me in this depressed state. When the effects wore off, my head would start pounding with the worst headache I've ever felt. Which could only be temporarily cured by doing more MDPV. But, it only delayed the inevitable. I thought I was going to die that night from doing minute amounts of the drug. People getting hospitalized would do 20-30 times the amount that I did. I couldn't even imagine. I flushed the rest of that shit down the toilet. It's an evil, horrible drug that I would never, ever touch again!
This does not make me want to run out and get a bag.

You might have noticed that John mentioned another unnamed compound at the start of his review. In his e-mail, he goes on to call it "the best drug I've ever done," which is a bold statement. But because he doesn't actually name that drug, I'm not going to worry about it too much.

I know from past reviews that you guys can take drug reviews personally. Who knew so many people would get offended that I didn't trip out listening to MP3s? If you disagree with John and have had an awesome time on this stuff, send us your experiences and we'll post the rebuttal.

Play safe out there, kids.

As with anything else if ya can't handle the drug stick with booze or something more manageable. In my opinion it's meant to be snorted in small amounts. Oh by the way, eat, drink, and get some sleep (it can be done if you force yourself to stop 6 hrs before bed). If your not use to stimulants or are on psych meds stay away. If you can adhere to at least some of this you're in for a badass high. Use your own judgement, be educated. If your overly concerned with what crap you put in your body, bath salts shouldn't be on your agenda anyway.

Bath salts are perfect for so many reasons for one im 21 years old and have 2 jobs, one is a 9am-5pm office job and im also a bartender at a real busy bar from 6pm-3am. i hardly get enough rest and the energy drinks i tried don't really cut it for me and have bad side effects that come along with them. i was visiting one of my nieghborhoood top smoke shop and came across this product called "Epic Sea" with a display of a attractive girl with a little paragraph describing her life style and describes how that product bennifts her. after reading it i loved how i could relate to her busy life style and needing something that gives you a huge rush of energy instantly without any side affects or that euphoria feeling after. i bought a sample and tried it on my typical busy days. i had this comfortable awake feeling the whole time i would consume the product. it gave me that extra kick i needed being a round a lot of hyper customers and being able to move around back and forth with out feeling exhausted what so ever. the product is available on 101easy.com and every time i order this product its always consistent and is absolutely legal and im able to carry it around with out any worries. for people that are always on the go and have a busy lifestyle i  most definitively reccomend this product. one of the best bath salts out there hands down!

I tried bath salts today (eight ballz) and while i have done adderall plenty of times before in upwards of 140mg in a 24 hour period. this stuff is good and bad first the good lots of energy, motivated, wanting to do productive things, i would say compared to adderall the good equals out bur the bad does not. the bad red eyes(eye drops worked for about 5 minutes), can't sleep (like adderall) mind races 100 thoughts a second (like adderall) can't talk worth a shit words all get jumbled up(unlike adderall) kidneys hurt when i tried to sleep (really uncool) makes me talk way too much (more than adderall) i was fiddling non stop like i was jittery couldn't hold my hands still they would shake slightly

over all it was a good experience while the buzz was kicked in but after you loose the buzz it sucks not a crash really but side affects are still there with out the buzz is what sucks

i only took 2 small little pinches in a drink form (could be why kidneys hurt)

eight ballz brand is very strong stuff don't be fooled by the quantity they give you you only need a little bit especially if your a first timer

final thoughts would rather have adderall but this stuff isn't bad if you use it in moderation like once every week or longer

Sites like this that keep publishing stories about bath salts like this just fuel more sites like http://shop.getfreespice.com/B... to spring up and start distribution. I didn't even know they existed until a few days ago when I read it on MSN now with all the publicity no wonder everyone is trying to make a quick buck

About a year ago is when i herd about this bath salt shit. I have done my fair share of uppers and had to try it. It was called Snow Leopard and all i knew is that you only needed tiny bumps. I assumed i would be able to a little bit and than sleep. Nope....that half gram lasted over 3 days cause i know my limits.... I told myself never again.

I should have listened to myself... I came across this shit called 8 Ballz bath salt the other day and it caught my eye, I figured it might be more enjoyable..... i did not know how to describe the feeling till i started reading peoples comments who have been in my shoes. For me it felt like the whole high was in my forehead. The effects were only enjoyable for the first hour after a line, followed by a wierd headache. I think my mistake was that i stopped each night thinking i was actually gonna sleep, than before long the sun was up and i felt like shit. I should have threw it away after the first night, but i saved it and it turned into a 4 day event.... My advice... If you never did uppers before, dont start with this shit. It really is amazing how this stuff is legal and weed isn't... that blows my mind.

I think any information that is honest and from an experienced source should always be available. Nothing makes me more frustrated than reading informational blogs from people who have no idea what they are talking about. The facts should always be know so that people can make a reliable decision as to what they want to do. I tried the stuff and got extremly high. I hadn't used any stimulant in 15 years and tried it just to see if it was really as good as strong as they say. It was but the information out there says it is like coke or methamphetamine and also like ex. What they dont tell you is that you cant use it like cocaine unless you want to stay up for 9 days at a time like the people in the news. I bought 1 bag of 250 miligrams and with no idea of how much to use so i used about 1/4 of the bag. I couldnt believe the effect it had and that i got it over the counter. I got a huge rush and a rapid heart beat. I just kept thinking wow im high and wow if this stuff gives me a heart attack and kills me im going to be pissed. After only a couple hours i was still high but ready to do more kind of like you feel with coke. To make a long story short what started as a 1 day event turned in to 3 memorable days of weird but fun high and an extremly addictive mood. This powder was in my opinion more addictive than coke and the come down was just as hard to deal with. I only used 1 250mg bag in 3 days. How the hell does that work. I went back on day 3 and bought 5 more bags but somehow i realized what that could do to me and flushed them down the toilet. Since that event i still find myself looking at the bags online and thinking about it. I cant believe this stuff is still legal. My opinion is make it go away asap. Please

In my opinion and only my opinion is that any comments on this that are accurate and informational to someone who is thinking about trying should be out there. I think most people who have used illegal stimulants in the past and decide to try this will be amazed by the fact that it is still legally sold. Good results or bad depends on the person but after i tried it as more of an experiment I couldnt believe how potent this stuff is. Kids who are looking to use drugs are going to abuse anything that is easy to get and this is not something they should get there hands on.
Before i tried this i did extensive research on the stuff to make sure it would not result in a positive drug test. After the research and hearing what it was doing to people i was nervous about even thinking about it. After talking to a couple people who had used it, myself and 11 other adults with prior experience with illegal substances decided to try it out. I was expecting a speedy effect and got more than i expected off a much smaller amount of either meth or cocaine. It took a few minutes to kick in but i got an initial high similar to cocaine and then when it leveled out more of a speedy meth high. The problem for me is that it wasn't a clean clear head high with high concentration, it was more of a foggy frustrating high. Also i noticed that edgy paranoia that makes you nervous and to be honest a little weird. It was cool in a way because it reminded me of my party days much earlier in my life but it also made me understand why it was said to be very addictive. Meth highs usually ended for me in a calm down go to sleep sort of way while cocaine had a very bad comedown that always made me want to do more just to not feel bad. This stuff has the cocaine effects for me and i kept thinking about doing a little more. Some of the results from the other guys were much different than my own. A few were completly freaked out by the effects and some others were better. I used this stuff 3 times in a 1 day period in very small ammounts 3 hours apart but when i should have been ready to relax and go to bed, I was still very much awake and feeling the effects. I wasn't able to relax and sleep untill 14 hours after using the last small bump. The next day i felt like i had just spent a week on meth (not good) and found myself seriously thinking about using it again to feel better. We all took a 12 panel drug screen that day and confirmed the rumors that the drug would not show up. I guess my point is that i am now an adult and consider myself to have much better will power than in my younger days along with much more responsibilities as a father and husband. When i tried this it was a way for me to remember the good ol days but what i felt scared the hell out of me. I had a very hard time walking away from this after 1 day of use and found myself thinking about it for a few weeks after. I didnt even really enjoy the effects but maybe that is because i was nervous about what could happen. My opinion is that if you want to try it try it. I have always been a hands on guy but be prepared for a revelation. Im glad i tried it because the idea that you can get the high of the real thing but legally is always a plus but i think this stuff is the most addictive thing i have ever experimented with and if it would have been available in my party days i would have most likely been the guy in the news that went crazy and killed himself after being high for 12 days straight. I really hope they ban this stuff eventually because it is exactly what they say it is and more. People sit in parking lots waiting for the store to open much like hunting down your drug dealer. If a person has an addictive lifestyle they will have a real problem with this stuff. Again this is only my opinion and an honest experience from an extremly experienced prior drug user.

It's people like him that should not have any say in things that affect our country or it's people. A little person that lets his back side talk for him. I bet he is 12 years old&is beat up alot in school!other comments made bt his only friend. He might not even be from this country. Our great country and the people that have fought and keep it safe are suffering because of people like that.,, ban this ban that, Because he didn't like it. We are not a free country any more due to people like him. Maybe if he would have read the direction he would of known the warning that says 1st time users it takes a very little and is very strong &consintrared, plus it's not for little(human consumption) boys but your bath. I liked it and have tried others that make you foscused aware/alert. I had only 1 side affect and that was the money it coast. Is it something to do every day, no.After you have finished with the amount you feel like doing you stop, you dont get in your car under the influence headed to the dealers house spending your rent for more. Maybe getting arrested or killing someone. Lets just ban everthing & everone put vails over the womens faces.Ban that pepsi, i tried it& didnt like it. The cops said 2 people have died, that stuff is bad,&we heard that all your kids are doing it & will die . Most of us know that the police and our Gov. will lie, cheat, steel, take every thing you have, even kill ya to make you do what they say live like they say. They really beleave that everthing they have to lie & cheat about is for your own good.If they kill youoops had to&nooo we didn't know,,40yrslater maybe it caused cancer. I could name hunderds of examples. reefer madness, Lsd exspearments, nuke testing, agent orange,in60s supplied drugs to black panthers to break them up,destroied whole comunity, waco tx. publicschoolgradsorryaboutmisspelling! retired airborne infantry(Christian) soilder 4time combat vet & i love the USA. Like i said I'm a christan & heard them lie too but like our Gov never never would they/we.

I tried it as well. And i should have listened to the warnings. Usually when i hear of new legal highs, i wanna get in them. But Ivory Wave was the worst mistake that i have made in my life. And that is not an exaggeration.

To note i am a 21 year old girl, 5'2" 110 lbs. Imagine a toothpick broken in half. I only used a half of the toothpick's worth of Ivory Wave. I felt it kick in and it was kind of a speed boost. Then i had to lay down because my heart rate went sky high. I couldn't get comfortable which made me a little paranoid. I laid in the fetal position for 4 hours staring at the tv screen. No hallucinations. No euphoria. Just rapid heart rate and paranoia/anxiety.

And coming down was worse. It took me a full two weeks to get over. Paranoia. Heart palpitations. Headaches. Anxiety. Nausea. Loss of appetite. Chest pain. Apathy. The list goes on and on of awful symptoms. I would advise everyone not to even think about touching the stuff. And i hope they ban this shit everywhere. It will seriously injure or kill someone very easy. There's your educational purposes...

Ive tried it and i personally like it. The key is small doses and not repetitivley, sry for spelling, but know your limit, and only you know your body. pros- alertness, good mood shift, induces outgoingness (u like to talk), can focus well and for me i was able to control my anxiety while "under the influence" neutral- slight appetite stimulation, weird taste, no jaw clenching Cons- slight nausea when injested and coming down, aggitation on comedown, increases anxiety on comedown, basically plan ur comedown when u want to sleep, and u might have some insomnia. but im speakin on my own personal level. This product is not meant to be consumed, nor is recommended.only for educational purposes only.
