If you grew up on Reading Rainbow or Star Trek: The Next Generation, you for sure know LeVar Burton. The Kansas City Public Library is giving you a chance to meet Burton, and it's just a tweet or a Facebook comment away.

Burton is in Kansas City on Friday, February 18. At 1:30 p.m., he'll host an event with students from the Derrick Thomas Academy at the Central Library (14 West 10th Street). Then he'll meet five winners from the Twitter/Facebook contest.

Here's how to win: Follow the library on Twitter at @KCPubLibrary. Then tweet the names of your three all-time favorite children's books @KCPubLibrary using the hashtag #tweetingrainbow and include this link http://bit.ly/LeVarKCPL. Do it in three separate tweets (hey, 140 characters doesn't leave a lot of room). But you've got to do it by noon Thursday, February 17.

If Facebook is your social-media poison of choice, then "Like" the library by going to Facebook.com/KCLibrary and then post a comment with the name of your all-time fave children's book and its author.

The winners will be picked at random.
