Royals fans, Joakim Soria has a favor to ask you: Stop calling him "The Mexicutioner."

The 26-year-old closer (and native of Mexico) asked his Twitter followers to come up with a new nickname. "How about if we change my nickname to something positive?" he asked. "In support to Mexico to stop all the violence!!!"

Soria is clearly referring to the rise in drug and gang violence in Mexico. (In 2010, 15,000 people were murdered in drug-related violence.) And while the nickname is admittedly pretty cool, it's time for a change.

"It is sad when you see your country like that, and that nickname is a negative to the kids in Mexico," Soria told the Star. "There's too much violence. It's really bad.

"I know I can't really do anything about it, but the mind-set needs to change. People follow me in Mexico."

So how about it, Kansas City? Got a better nickname?

The "Matador"? I know it's Spain Spanish, but I love how Joakim takes the mound and throws darts. My favorite royal.
