A 5-year-old girl believed to have been abducted by a burglary suspect has been found. Independence police say the young girl was found just after 5 p.m. Thursday, KMBC Channel 9 reported. The girl wasn't harmed but was being checked out as a precautionary measure.

However, authorities are still looking for 25-year-old burglary suspect David Martin Jr. Martin allegedly was involved in a burglary Thursday and reportedly ended up dropping the young girl off at a friend-of-a-friend's home before fleeing.

Martin is described as a 6-foot-3-inch, 210-pound white male.

Independence police say they have one burglary suspect in custody.

If you've seen Martin, call 911. Or if you have information about the burglary or abduction, call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-8477 or Independence police at 816-325-7330.
