  • An off-duty KCK cop allegedly shot a bouncer Friday night.

An off-duty Kansas City, Kansas, police officer was arrested across the state line Friday night for allegedly shooting a 6902 Club bouncer in the abdomen twice.

Witnesses told police that the unnamed police officer was getting kicked out of the club on Prospect Avenue for being drunk and belligerent toward customers and bar staff. KCMO police arrested the suspected shooter around 11:45 p.m. Charges have yet to be filed.

The KCKPD says the officer has been placed on administrative leave while the department investigates.

The bouncer was taken to a local hospital in serious condition. At last word, he was said to be in good condition and recovering at home.

The KCPD expects the case file to be turned over to the Prosecutor's Office by midweek.

If you were at the club and saw something, call police on the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-8477.
