Medical marijuana bills get put on the Missouri House's agenda all the time, but they never get very far, as should be obvious by the fact that I'm typing this sober and clear-eyed. God bless people for trying, though. It eluded us before, but that's no matter.
Tomorrow we will run faster, stretch out our arms farther ... and one fine morning ... there's a new medical-marijuana bill filed for the 2011 session of the Missouri General Assembly, is what I'm getting at here.
The site KCWeed is reporting that Rep. Mike Colona and nine others are supporting the bill. If passed, the legislation would allow for the growing of marijuana in a "controlled environment" only for medicinal purposes, and for your doctors to prescribe a little bud if they thought it would help.
You can see the full text of the bill here.

As a former California medical marijuana user, I to now live in Missouri and would like a safe place to get my meds , yes not illicit drugs , meds
We've got the bill in, now we need legislators to here from the citizens. Also what has been stopping patient success in the past is our Speaker Of The House never let's the bill see the light of day.
Here is some good solid advice from Joplin NORML in Joplin, MO:
1. Contact Speaker Tilley’s office and, in a polite but direct manner, urge them to give House Bill 698 a quick committee assignment. (201 West Capitol Avenue, Room 308A, Jefferson City MO 65101, Phone:573-751-1488, E-Mail: Steven.Tilley@house.mo.gov)
2. Contact your legislator and tell them to urge the Speaker to assign the bill.
3. Contact your friends and family and urge them to do the above!
It's really too bad there is not much more support for such a measure to pass. It would be fantastic for Patients with Terminal Cancer or MS to get relief from marijuana rather than being admitted over and over as an inpatient in a hospital to help them control their pain and other symptoms.
Marijuana is the safest drug with actual benefits for the user as opposed to alcohol which is dangerous, causes addiction, birth defects, and affects literally every organ in the body. Groups are organizing all over the country to speak their minds on reforming pot laws. I drew up a very cool poster for the cause which you can check out on my artist’s blog at http://dregstudiosart.blogspot... Drop in and let me know what you think!
