If Kansas City Royals fans have any remaining feelings of missing Zack Greinke, they shouldn't. The former Royal is probably going to start the season on the disabled list because he fractured a rib -- playing basketball.

The 2009 AL Cy Young winner jumped for a rebound and fell on his

side. The Round Mound of Rebound he is not. "Everyone always told me not to do it because I was going to get

hurt," Greinke reportedly said. "It finally caught up to me."

Greinke is expected to miss two to four weeks after an MRI revealed a hairline fracture on one rib and a bruise on another. I'd be surprised if Greinke doesn't have a clause in his contract forbidding playing hoops and other sports because, you know, you could get hurt and miss your real job.

"I'm feeling good, but it's not worth it," Greinke reportedly said. "I

don't want to miss any time with the team, especially at the beginning.

Until it heals, there's nothing you really can do."

Yeah, so maybe you shouldn't be shooting hoops.

The Royals dumped Greinke onto the Milwaukee Brewers in the offseason. This has to make Royals fans feel a little bit better on parting ways with Greinke.
