Hundreds of people were killed in Japan when an 8.9-magnitude earthquake spawned a tsunami. In the coastal city of Sendai, between 200 and 300 people were found dead -- and that number is likely to grow, CNN reported.

Images of the destruction have been making their way online. BuzzFeed collected 50 breathtaking photos from the earthquake and tsunami in Japan, as well as raw video. The devastation is unreal.

The Kansas City wrestling promotion Metro Pro Wrestling posted on Facebook that Missouri wrestlers Trevor Murdoch and Brian Breaker were safe in Japan.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Trevor Murdoch and Brian Breaker, who both safely landed in Japan before the earthquake. Apparently, they are still inside the plane (7 hours-plus later), but they are safe.

Meanwhile, CNN reported that nearly 7-foot waves hit Hawaii early this morning, and the West Coast was also bracing for waves.
