Cops now claiming synthetic pot is responsible for underage rapes

Even though there's a state ban on most synthetic cannabinoids, as well as a national emergency ban, kids are still cooking up fake weed at home, and head shops are still selling knockoffs. Until now, the debate has essentially been law enforcement and politicians saying, "This is an untested new drug that may have long-term health risks and gets people high," to which stoners respond, "Legal weed, bro!"

Having smoked up ourselves (still waiting on that public-service journalism award, Pulitzer committee), we thought that, at its best, synthetic pot was good only for making things funnier and eating fried chicken. Now, Macon Police Chief Steve Olinger is claiming that people are using it for much worse than just watching Adult Swim.

In an interview with Fox4, Olinger says: "A couple of [the girls] reported to us that they were not able to move

their legs, weren't able to keep their clothes on themselves. Yes, yes, they

weren't able to defend themselves, weren't able to comprehend a

conversation, weren't able to speak and tell that person to stop, leave

me alone."

Rape is about as foul as you can get. We can't dismiss the cop's legitimate concerns that some evil motherfuckers are getting girls stoned so they can force themselves on them.

While we're all looking out for each other this weekend, let's remember that even though someone probably has incorporated K2 into their rape toolbox, that doesn't make fake weed unique. There are predators out there who want to hurt you, and some of them are likely using K2. But they're also using booze (which is completely legal and which the Macon police don't mention in the story) and normal weed and pills, and anything else they think might satisfy their atrophied little hearts. Don't worry so much about watching for one special demon drug; watch out for these dead-souled fuckers.

Lawmakers are in the process of closing any loopholes that currently exist with laws pertaining to some herbal incense products, but there efforts will prove to be fruitless in the end. The prohibition of marijuana has created this demand for legal marijuana alternatives. A rather prosperous niche that will be tapped into for as long as marijuana continues to be illegal. There are many places one may still buy k2 incense and according to the vendors, like http://www.buyk2.com the k2 herb products they sell are legal everywhere.

Hmmm. They don't care about the American public in the least. They started banning K2 and other herbal incense products long before they actually started research on any possible side effects they may have. Please don't be fooled into thinking they care about our well-being. If that were so, they would just tear down the corrupt FDA and take out Big Pharma as they are the biggest toxin pushers! Provided there are age restrictions, if someone wants some k2 herb, who are you to tell them that they can't have it? If someone wants to, they will buy k2 smoke whether it's legal or not as that is what happens with anything else that is unjustly and ridiculously prohibited. K2 incense will be no different. Plus, the formulas are constantly changing. http://www.herbalk2incense.com offers several products that are legal all over the world.

Yes, rape is a terrible crime, but it's worth noting that people who work in law enforcement will say just about anything. I've never met one who wasn't a liar.

Having never raped anyone, I'm unable to speak with much authority on the subject, but think about it. If you wanted to commit a drug-assisted rape, wouldn't it make a lot more sense to use something like roofies (or Quaaludes, etc.) you can slip into the victim's drink rather than something you've got to con them into smoking?
