Yahoo! Sports' Marc Spears is reporting that Marcus and Markieff Morris are close to signing with agent Jason Martin. No, I'm not taking this from the fake ESPN report that said five Jayhawks, including the Morris twins, would be turning pro.
According to Spears, the Morris twins met with Martin on Wednesday in Beverly Hills, California. The twins haven't officially declared for the NBA Draft yet, but both are expected to be first-round picks (and, really, they should go now).
NBA Draft.net's latest mock draft has Marcus going No. 9 to the Milwaukee Bucks and Markieff going No. 14 to the Houston Rockets. The money is going to be hard to pass up if they're really going that high in the draft.
As for the fake ESPN report, well, part of it may be close to coming true. The fake site is a pretty great copycat of the actual ESPN site, so it probably has been killing Jayhawk fans for most of the day. In the fake report, the twins, Josh Selby, Thomas Robinson and Tyshawn Taylor all declared for the draft.
The likelihood of Robinson going might be increasing with his draft stock. NBA Draft.net has him getting picked No. 23 by the Phoenix Suns. Selby is pegged as a high second-round pick, which I think would lead him to coming back to KU next year. We'll find out soon enough. The deadline to declare is April 24.
