Kansas City, Kansas, police say the victim of Friday's homicide was 18-year-old Akeem Matthews. He was shot in the 1500 block of North 29th Street in KCK and pronounced dead at a local hospital.
According to Matthews' Twitter page, he was an aspiring gospel rapper.
His bio says:
my name is diplo (akeem) umm gosple rapper iam going to tell u like a borther told me christ run everything around me (dre'sir voice)
His last post on the site is from February 4. He wrote:
Must say God been good to me can u say a houseMatthews often wrote about God on his page.
