Watson's days of freedom are over. The 55-year-old rapist was declared an aggravated habitual sexual offender on Wednesday and sentenced to life in prison with zero chance of parole.
Watson is a particularly despicable waste of flesh. Last December, he posed as a cop, accused a woman of shoplifting, kidnapped her and attempted to rape her in the parking lot of a Best Buy on
Parallel
Parkway in Kansas City, Kansas. In February, Watson pleaded guilty to charges of attempted rape,
kidnapping and aggravated sexual battery.
This could have all been prevented.
Watson
was convicted of attempted rape in
1977 and rape and aggravated assault in 1980. (In one of the rapes,
Watson followed a 14-year-old girl home from school,
broke into her home and raped her.)
The Kansas Parole Board granted him parole in January 2009. Sedgwick
County authorities tried to have Watson committed
indefinitely as a sexual predator to the Larned State
Mental Hospital, but Watson's defense reportedly
presented two
psychiatrists who testified that Watson wasn't dangerous. They were
wrong, but a Wichita jury deadlocked, and Watson was released in January
2010.
That Watson was paroled 30 years early -- he
served half of
a 60-year sentence -- is simply disgusting.

Hey "Dick", no where in this article does it state that these women were dressed "slutty", I doubt a 14 year old walking home from school was. There is no excuse to rape anyone, no matter what they're "dressed" like anyway. I take it you are a slow individual. Boo hoo, parole boards aren't magical mind readers and assumed that spending 30 years in prison might have rehabilitated the guy. You are right Justin, it is "disgusting" that we give anyone who ever committed a crime a chance when they have multiple psychologists backing them up.
Glad the guy is back behind bars, but let's not pretend we all knew he belonged there only to complain the next time someone innocent is released after a wrongful prison stay.
Wow, and they only had to let a serial rapist go free multiple times with multiple traumatized victims (his KNOWN victims - the unlisted ones probably easily are in the hundreds) for over 33 years. Good job. And now we, the taxpayers, have to pay for feeding + housing + containing this waste of human-imitation flesh for another few decades to the probable cost of millions in tax dollars.
