We've got a second report of police searching a home in the 4/20 drug busts and finding nothing. This one's from Oak Grove where an anonymous tip led police to one woman's door looking for a meth lab. Fox 4 reported that police didn't find a lab, and the homeowner isn't happy.
Kirstie Hague told Fox 4 that she opened her door and found three police
officers standing on her front step saying they'd received an anonymous
tip that she was cooking meth. Hague let the "very respectful" cops in for a futile search, although she became a little bit paranoid.
"And I think, do we have any Sudafed? What if they open the door and
find Sudafed?" Hague told Fox 4. "What if they are in the garage and find a battery sitting
down there?"
After the cops left, Hague became angry with the anonymous tipster, who she believes made the false report as part of some revenge plot.
"They did it probably to get back at us for something, or because they
are angry with us and wanted to mess with us for some reason," Hague
told the TV station. "That not only causes aggravation and strain on
me."
Hague wasn't the only innocent person to get a visit from police on 4/20. Independence police went looking for a marijuana grow house at one man's home and found tomato plants (see "Tomato-growing operation 'busted' in Missouri marijuana roundup"). Still, authorities seized thousands of marijuana plants and shut down several grow operations as part of "Operation Constant Gardener."
