A Kansas anti-abortion organization is claiming that pro-choice advocates are being a bunch of sore losers in the wake of Gov. Sam Brownback's signing of a bill placing restrictions on abortion providers. Wichita-based Operation Rescue reports on its website that vandals defaced a banner on the group's headquarters.
The billboard advertises services and free pregnancy tests provided by A Better Choice, a clinic next to Operation Rescue's building. Although the timing is right for it to be a jab from pro-choice folks,
the vandalism doesn't look to be particularly political in
nature. Could it just have been bored Wichita teenagers? Operation Rescue clearly doesn't think so.
On the organization's website, the president, Troy
Newman, said, "Whenever there is significant progress on one of our
projects, or when
we are under attack by pro-abortion supporters in the news, we have
incidents of vandalism, in spite of all our security precautions."
The organization says it's the third time that the ad has been the target of
graffiti, and this time it needs to be replaced.
The bill that Brownback signed includes new
mandates for abortion clinics, including unannounced inspections and
the banning of telemedicine in administering abortion drugs. It also
requires that the Kansas Department of Health and Environment issue
licenses for abortion providers and create standards for lighting,
equipment and exits.
The new standards, abortion opponents hope, will lead to the state's three
abortion clinics shutting down.
Operation Rescue, famous for its trucks wrapped in unpleasant images of aborted
fetuses, targeted Kansas abortion provider George Tiller
for years. A phone number for Cheryl
Sullenger, Operation Rescue's senior policy adviser, who served
prison time for conspiring to bomb a California abortion clinic in the
1980s, was found in the car of Scott Roeder on the day that Roeder killed Tiller.

"Kill" is such a political term. Roeder just aborted Tiller. You shouldn't say he killed him, just because you don't respect the decision that Roeder made with his or her own god.
The fact is the sign had been vandalized weeks before Brownback signed the new abortion restrictions into law. Operation Rescue is only mentioning it now because they hope to portray pro-choicers as criminal and make some money in the process. People are less likely to give money to Operation Rescue for a new sign if it's just a random act of crime (and they claim they need $5000 for a new sign, they aren't that pricey).

I can't enlarge the picture, can anyone else? What was done to the billboard? those white markings? really hard to see the defacement of the picture or text or whatever...

Love the Womb...hate the Human ROFLMFAO
No one's deflecting or diverting anything. Murder is illegal. Abortion is a legal medical procedure.
No matter how you try to deflect it or divert the subject - Rev Spitz is correct.
I have always considered those trucks to be a bit of a safety hazard. I'm curious to know if those trucks have ever caused any traffic accidents due to people being distracted by the picture of a giant aborted fetus.
