The roof on a church on Linwood Boulevard collapsed Thursday morning, bringing down a brick wall with it. According to reports, no one was hurt.

A hole appeared in the east wall of the Cain-Grant African Methodist Episcopal Church, at 1701 Linwood Boulevard, before the roof came down. The portion of the building that failed appears to be an addition to the original, which is adorned with Stars of David, suggesting that it was a synagogue in a former life.

Congregation B'nai Jehudah used to meet at Linwood and Flora. This structure is a couple of blocks east of that site.

David - This is correct. In fact, once upon a time, the Jewish neighborhoods and black neighborhoods in KC were adjacent, and even overlapped to an extent.
