For the last two months, Waldo has been reliving some of the old familiar tension that was in the air when the "Waldo rapist" was breaking into women's homes. Two sexual assaults along the Trolley Trail were reportedly tied to the same man. Today, Jackson County prosecutors announced multiple felony counts against the person they think is responsible.

James Kemp, 23, of KC, is facing eight felony counts in connection with attacks on the trail, including forcible sodomy, kidnapping, first degree robbery, and four counts of armed criminal action.

Kemp allegedly bound his victims with duct tape and threatened them with a knife. The charges stem from two attacks, one on June 16 at 5:15 a.m. on the trail, and the second on July 17 before 6 a.m. at a car wash near the trail at the corner of 80th Street and Wornall.

Prosecutors are asking that Kemp be held on a $250,000 cash bond.
