The search for a missing Iowa couple led authorities to Kansas City on Sunday.
According to the Des Moines Register, Kay and Bill Wood's home burned late Saturday. Inside, a yet-to-be-identified body was discovered. The couple's red Chevy Silverado pickup truck was missing. A check with OnStar led authorities to KC, where the truck was discovered at an apartment complex at 8381 North Donnelly Avenue. Note to Iowa criminals, we're full-up here. No vacancies.
According to the Register, authorities aren't assuming the body belongs to 72-year-old Kay or 79-year-old Bill Wood. They also have declared a cause of the fire, but the fire was said to be suspicious.
So we're left with a mystery. The search continues for the Woods, who were last seen at an auction in Iowa Saturday morning.
Authorities are also looking for anyone who may have seen the 2009 red pickup with Iowa license plates 426 SOC between noon Saturday and noon Sunday. If you can help them, call the Warren County dispatch center at 515-961-1122 or Iowa State Patrol at 515-323-4360.
