Sam Brownback vacations at Texas governor's prayer rally; IHOP's Mike Bickle says 'there is no other God other than Jesus'

Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback's "vacation" led him to Texas Gov. Rick Perry's "The Response" prayer rally in Houston on Saturday. Brownback prayed (skip to the 2:12 mark of the video to see him pray) and fasted (he's also not eating in the video, so I guess he's fasting, too).

Brownback's press people sent out a press release Saturday titled "Governor: Now is the time to pray" quoting George Washington, Abraham Lincoln and Martin Luther King Jr. Brownback simply added: "We are in a difficult time again for our nation. Now is the time for us to pray.”

During the rally, Brownback read Matthew 5:3-16 and 2 Chronicles 7:13-14 from the Bible. He also gave a prayer.

Grandview's International House of Prayer was heavily involved in the event. IHOP's Mike Bickle spoke on "redefining love" by calling every other religion false.

"Jesus is God," Bickle said. "There is no other God besides Jesus. Father, son and holy spirit. All the world religions, they can say what they say, there is no other God other than Jesus."

"To Andy, who seems ignorant of Muhammed's teachings on homosexuality. They (Islamic theocracies) cut your nuts off, and your head after that. But we wouldn't want the general population of Pitch readers to know that. Only that Christians hurt you by "preaching," at you... Just sayin.."

The Pitch mainly covers people and events that have to do with Missouri or Kansas. Why would they have daily blog updates about Islamic theocracies? Also, I still have no idea how Justin Kendall converting to Islam so that he could support gay marriage so that he could have his head cut off (or whatever it was you were talking about) would support the theory of evolution...was that some sort of "survival of the fittest" joke?

"Just sayin' you should publish Muslim-bashing articles as well. You know... you need balance these things."

Sam Brownback is the governor of Kansas (which is a state that the Pitch covers) and IHOP is in Missouri (which is a state that the Pitch covers). I think if a spokesperson from a local Mosque or Muslim group said something as crazy as the bile spewed by Mike Bickle then the Pitch would treat it with equal contempt.

"Why don't you go "become a Muslim" and support gay marriage? Let's see what happens. It would support your theory of evolution."

What?
