Its ok to ignore your mothers brick-hurling orders.
  • It's OK to ignore your mother's brick-hurling orders.
Another Mother of the Year candidate has emerged! A Wichita mommy and her 12-year-old son were both arrested on Monday when a neighborhood fight broke out between kids. Mom's boy allegedly started scuffling with an 11-year-old. Apparently not wanting to see her kid suffer the humiliation of losing to a younger foe, the mom allegedly encouraged junior to throw a brick at the other kid's head.

Unfortunately, the 12-year-old listened to his mother, and the brick struck the other boy in the head, sending him to the hospital.

Both mother and child were arrested following the fight, KSN-TV reports, on charges of battery and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, respectively.

Being from the generation that would be a grandparent to the 12 year old and Dad for the mother in this situation, I have to ask "What kind of kid did I raise? Many (not all) in the generation of peace and love that rebelled against the strictures of society and family lost sight of respect as a value. As a result we did not pass it down to our children and disrespectful actions became acceptable across society over the short span of 2 generations. Example: look at our political, judicial and family institutions, where civility and cooperation has devolved into a name calling, spiteful, corrupt, gotcha mess.

Did she also tell her son to throw a block of Aerogel at a kid?

You might ask "What kind of kids are we raising today?" but the real question is 'What kind of parents are raising children today and where did they come from?" There are a great many people who should not be parents. Believe me, I think most of them are crazy. They do not want children for the children's sake...it's to make these parents look bigger and better. And any feat (Good or bad) performed by the child reflects on that parent and gives them their 15 minutes of fame (?).

my rule of thumb is - if you see a good kid or a bad kid - you have to go back at least one generation to look for the probable cause...this a a prime case....
