Last week, Yust pleaded guilty to a domestic-violence charge unrelated to the Kopetsky case.
The latest charges stem from a pair of incidents in July in which Yust allegedly killed three kittens, repeatedly slamming one on a floor and putting the other two in a sack and throwing them in a creek.
In the domestic-violence case, Yust pleaded guilty to choking and striking his pregnant, 18-year-old girlfriend. While he was doing this, he allegedly told her: "I’ve killed people before, even ex-girlfriends out of sheer jealousy. I will kill you."
Yust allegedly added that his family owns a farm “where there were pigs that would eat anything including bones, that he had seen arms ripped off people while they were still alive, and he had seen people dropped in barrels of acid to destroy evidence."
Yust reportedly cut a plea deal to have no contact with the victim and attend anger-management classes.
Kopetsky vanished in May 2007. Surveillance video showed the then-17-year-old leaving Belton High School. Kopetsky had filed a restraining order against Yust just days before her disappearance, claiming that Yust choked, kidnapped and threatened her.
Yust admitted that he was considered a suspect in the Kopetsky case, but he had an alibi and passed a lie detector test.

I am outraged by the tattoo comments. I have six of them. I work in Law enforcement. I can cover all six of my tattoos and most don't even know I have them. I do not feel stupid for having them. And the comment tattoos do not make a murderer is correct. Tattoos do not make you white trash. Your actions make you trash. He knows where Kara is I am sure of it. But without enough evidence he will walk free. Unless they can find her bones or body they have nothing and Kara will remain one of those unsolved mysteries. It's a shame but the truth is we may never find out who killed her or how.
I'm a big follower of the Kara Kopetsky case, so my question is, if him and his family have a history of abuse and violence whose to say a kidnap wasn't organized by this sick twisted man and one of his family members, I mean since he has this so called alibi, and his brother for one would be a perfect canidate. I mean, if violence stems in this family, why wouldn't they get vengeful if one has a restraining order put out on one of them, I mean, for all we know it could be his older brother who has taught him to see women as lesser than human, like animals they probably hurt often. WTF are the law enforcement doing? It doesn't take rocket scientist to connect the dots, I mean, its like they follow a lead, oh he has an alibi, ok were done here. WTF? Where are those police men hunches? Its like everyone has them accept the people that matter! Get off your asses Belton PD.
Missouri is a pathetic example of inability of the lawmakers and enforcers ( some of whom have issues with animal abuse in some cities that go unaddressed - Raymore, Columbia etc ) to connect the dots between animal abuse and domestic abuse and crime and drug and alcohol abuse. If he were given ten years of incarceration for each kitten he murdered he would not have a chance to injure another female or animal for 30 years. And why is he is not in jail at this moment?
my instincts tell me kara isn't with us any longer, god i hope my instincts are wrong for once. but this bastard needs to go down for what he's done. if not, he will do this again. and if he can hurt kittens and not care, then he sure will hurt that baby if he gets the chance.

it runs in the family, his older brother kidnapped a family member of mine, holding her at knife point and breaking her nose. this was after WEEKS of stalking her, threats to our family and a protection order. when will prosecutors realize that 'anger managment' will not work in domestic violence cases? i pray for the safety of this young women and her child.
It took 4 years for him to get caught doing something evil, but I have a feeling that abusing women is just old hat to him.
