KCTV5 reported that a heavyset robber dressed in all black pushed an employee into a closet. The Star reported that the guy escaped with "an undisclosed amount of money."
The KCPD says the robber made off with a safe belonging to Central Parking.
The employee wasn't seriously hurt, KCTV5 says.
Really, this didn't take long at all. You make me sad, Kansas City.
If you can help the cops track down the car in the above picture, call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-8477.

@Sarah, so you got who paid for it wrong. Other than that you point is clear and well made. Good point.
To those who might care....
The building itself was not paid for by the City, the Kauffman and Helzberg family have funded this. Although yes the Arts Garage was and that is where the robbery took place. And I am sure none of us are ignorant enough to presume that this wouldn't happen. Whether it would be sooner or later. Kansas City, Miami, New York.. it happens. And I don't see a need to sit around and point our fingers or spit out uneducated comments/remarks. The Kauffman and Helzberg family has put Kansas City on the International map. The opportunities that will be given to our children to experience a world class cultural center right here in our midwestern city is unheard of. The facility is state of the art, the security system being part of that.
I'm just a tax paying citizen here like you all. But I am so sick of people whining and complaining. If you don't like the way something is, if you want change.. get up off the couch and do something about it.
@ Sarah Craft .The Center was created as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Unlike some other major civic construction projects, no taxpayer funds went into its construction.[2] The City of Kansas City, however, built and operates a parking garage at the Center. Your point is invalid on this article.
Well, I don't know with the way our city is the Midwest's halfway house, because we have a city who doesn't believe in advancement for all-just for the few. Tax dollars aren't allocated correctly. I appreciate the arts, don't get me wrong, but what about the school district to begin with. The whole construction and how they represent art at the Nelson is a joke. Many people in the art community shake their heads on that, so I am not surprised the cow town doesn't know how to secure this new center appropriately. In fact did anyone catch that woman on opening night, she was new money for sure, but after attending a Placido Domingo event, she said, "I love Pavorotti." Paverotti is dead you nitwit, that's another tenor. We have way too many people who are not sophisticated for these things here, and who balk social responsibility for the education of those less fortunate. It is like Kansas City is the metaphor for the rest of the country.
Someone has already cased the joint to know when a cash drop is vulnerable?
You're absolutely right Justin.....it didn't take long at all.
no apparently they were over budget and had to ax a few things.....well i guess you can figure out what feature got 86'ed!
With the millions put into this building surely they have security cameras like CRAZY all over the garage, right?
