Dixon 42, had been in this situation before. In February 1997, she was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in a drunken-driving crash that killed her 23-month-old son (the Star reported that Dixon's blood-alcohol content was .25 in that case). In August 1999, she was convicted of felony DWI.
On Wednesday, she was picking up her daughter from school after drinking a beer and four shots of tequila at a bar. Authorities received a call of someone skipping out on a bar tab. Court records say Dixon paid for a Pale Ale, ordered four shots of Cuervo Gold but skipped out on paying for the shots when the bartender cut her off, court records say.
Then came the crash in the parking lot of her daughter's school.
Officers smelled alcohol coming from Dixon's breath, court records say. She was also "swaying" and "staggering," and her speech was slurred. Dixon refused to take a field sobriety test.
Dixon was arrested. She refused to take a breath test. Dixon also urinated on herself while in a holding cell, court records say. After she peed herself, Dixon then stomped in the piss, splattering it, court records say.
Dixon admitted to officers to drinking before driving. She told them that her divorce was finalized that day, and she went to lunch and had a salad and a margarita. Then she went to the bar for more drinks.
Dixon also told officers that she was attempting to pick up her daughter from school when she crashed her car. She didn't remember what happened because she was too drunk. She told officers that she's unemployed and homeless. She said she is living with a friend and hasn't asked for assistance because she's too embarrassed.
Dixon told officers that she needs help getting her life together. She is charged with DWI as an aggravated offender.
