Clifford Trammel claims that he lost four teeth after being assaulted by two men. His lawsuit says he also suffered cuts to his face and mouth while trying to break up a fight between his friend and a Chiefs fan, but he ended up falling two rows and hitting his head on some seats. In fact, Trammel claims that when security finally came to break up the fight, he was told that that's what he gets for wearing a Raiders jersey to Arrowhead.
Trammel is claiming that the Chiefs were negligent in preventing the attack and didn't do much to stop it. He's seeking $250,000, which will buy a lot of teeth and Raiders jerseys.

Hopefully this will disspell all of the assumptions: Not only did I witness this fight, but I also took photos before and after...and video taped the actual brawl. We were sitting just across the aisle and one row up from the Raiders fans. Here are the facts:
1. There were 5 to 8 Raiders fans, all wearing Raiders jerseys, surrounded by dozens of Chiefs fans.
2. From the beginning, the claimant (stocky bald guy with mustache/goatee, shaved head, grey bandana around his neck) would cheer and yell "F--- you, Chiefs!" every time a call went against the Chiefs.
3. Every time these guys got unruly, the Chiefs fans behind them would appeal to them, stating things like "Hey, man, take it easy, there's kids here." (I took a photo of a kid in front of me that couldn't have been more than 4 years old. Due to the Raiders fans' vulgar language and other rude behavior, the parent left before the real trouble started.)
4. Security was notified and they called 3-4 Missouri Highway Patrol Troopers to the top of the tunnel to assist in stopping the escalating situation.
5. In the fourth quarter, when the Chiefs were melting down, several penalty flags were thrown against them.
6. Every time the Chiefs were penalized, the claimant would raise his right arm, extend his middle finger, and spin around, yelling "F--- You, Chiefs!".
7. When the fans behind him had almost had enough, he turned around and stuck his hand within inches of their faces, middle finger extended, screaming "F--- You! F--- You!" He was obviously goading them into reacting.
***Two M.H.P. troopers came up the stairs and warned him and the other Raiders fans to calm down or they would be removed from the stadium. Satisfied that the Raiders fans would comply, they went back down and resumed their positions at the bottom of the stairs, watching.***
8. Just before the brawl errupted, I saw him turn around and violently shove the Chiefs fan behind him. At that time, Chiefs security personnel and M.H.P. troopers rushed up the stairs. ***This is when I switched my camera from "still" to "video"...
9. Being completely surrounded by Chiefs fans, momentum carrying the twisting ball of people down into the seats in front of them--and a growing number of Chiefs fans were walking down the steps to leave--security and M.H.P. had a very difficult time getting to the fight in the first place. They had to push through several people just to get to it. You can hear Chiefs fans on the video, urging the assault on, obviously sick and tired of the Raiders fans' behavior.
10. When it was all settled, they lifted the guy who incited the whole thing--the Raiders fan/claimant--and cuffed him. He was missing all of his top front teeth, bleeding profusely, and continued to yell "F--- you! F--- you!" even as the troopers escorted him away. The entire incident took less than 1 minute from the time he started the fight to the time the troopers had him in cuffs.
The claimant is from Warrensburg, a town close enough to K.C. that everyone should know the dangers of showing up at Arrowhead in a Raiders or Broncos jersey. I have several photos of Raiders fans all over the stadium, enjoying the game completely unmolested by the Chiefs fans surrounding them...but they weren't inciting violence against themselves, this guy WAS.
He also claims that Chiefs management didn't warn him about the dangers of consuming too much alcohol. Really? He's an adult. I'm sure this wasn't the first time he'd consumed alcohol and I'm sure he didn't really need someone to tell him the dangers of drinking too much...let alone wearing a Raiders jersey to Arrowhead and practically begging fans to take a swing at him. (It's important to note that the Chiefs announcer states several times during every game "The Chiefs want to remind you that the consumption of alcohol (is dangerous) please don't drink and drive.")
I'm not saying anyone deserves to have their teeth knocked out. I'm not saying the Chiefs don't have their share of unruly fans who are as guilty of bad behavior as this guy was. But anyone who did what this guy did would have absolutely no excuse--or recourse--for what happened to them. Might as well run out onto I-70 into the path of a semi truck, and claim that the trucker was at fault for driving 60 mph in a 60 mph zone.
I'm already trying to contact someone with the Chiefs to offer my testimony, as well as my video evidence. This guy doesn't deserve a pay day because of his own bad decisions.
Well, asshole, I’m going to go out on a limb here and say you were obnoxious and had your face painted like you were at an Insane Clown Posse concert. Probably either wearing a Jamarcus Russell or Darius Heyward-Bay jersey, picking at the contagious scabs on your face that Al Davis has provided all Oakland fans. So, when the security workers say, “That’s what you get for wearing a Raiders jersey”, they are spot on, because if I was at that game, you’d consider yourself lucky you only fell two rows. I’d gain enough support through the mob mentality that I’d just toss you up and over the railing, and you’d be suing for a new motorized wheelchair and handicap accessible van. You probably needed new teeth anyway you piece of trash.
I was at this game and I believe I witnessed this event... we were all shocked at the lack of response from security. I know that others in the area had told security that there was going to be a problem minutes before the attack. The Raider fan was trying to ignore the Chief's fan, but that did nothing to stop the escalation by the the Chief's fan. The "event" I witnessed was around section 318-319... It was two years ago, but when I saw this news article, it reminded me of it. Being a 15 year season ticket holder in Oakland, I've learned to notice problems brewing before hand, to let guest services, security or law enforcement know before it boils over. We witnessed someone telling security at Arrowhead, but they did nothing to stop it... definitely not like they do in Oakland. I've seen worse fights at Raider away games than Raider home games. This particular fight at Arrowhead was a 1-sided fight.
He should get paid, as fans we need to remeber there are laws, civil laws, break them ,,, pay the price!
There is no excuse for fighting in a family type venue, Period!
I wave the BS flag on you.
I cant remember the team, but the NFL hilights that night clearly showed batteries raining down on the visitors as they left the field.
Refute that, chump.
D-cell batteries..., bulls***! I'm from Oakland and a former season ticket holder in the blackhole section. We were giving a married couple a verbal lashing and our security staff escorted them to box seats. For their safety as well as the safety of Mr. Davis' wallet. I grew up in the Oakland coliseum, every documented act of violence perpetrated by a "raiders" fan, is away from Oakland. (San Diego/San Francisco)
@Jules - your comment "If all of you stand on the outside and look in you will see it is mostly the other team" makes no sense... obvisouly SOMEONE is starting the fight.. but there isn't always an innocent person caught in the middle.
I think this suit is absolutely RIDICULOUS lol. I hope the Judge laughs at him and dismisses the case all together. He was probably trash talking too - and why you would do that at the Chiefs stadium is BEYOND me - and this is the outcome. 4 missing teeth. Hopefully he learned his lesson!
This isn't college football where there is a "visitors section" for every game, and visiting fans are often treated with hospitality and kindness. Stay out of opposing teams NFL stadiums if you can't handle the heat. You aren't welcome, and they don't want you there.
As a Chiefs fan, I wouldn't even think about going to an opposing teams stadium while wearing a Chiefs jersey...especially a division rival with a long history of bad blood (Raiders, Broncos). If I go to an opposing game, I'll wear something neutral and keep my mouth shut like any smart person would do.
My cousins came to a raiders game at arrowhead and got punched in the face for wearing a raiders jersey! you don't see him sueing!! he did not even speak english and had no idea what was going on!
This is probably 100% true and I hope he wins I live in San Diego and I was born and raised here. I have been a raider fan all my life. I can remember so many times, in fact I would say 90% of the fights between raiders and someone else was started by someone else. I remember one time I was about 9 and my grandma took me to a raider charger game. Raider fans threw beer bottles at me and my grandma. Another time this teenage kid, probably about 16 was at the charger stadium charger fans were talking shit to him the whole game and the kid did nothing. Until his dad got tired of it and beat there asses. I remember another time some charger fans tried to beat up my brother (who is a charger fan) for being with me. If all of you stand on the outside and look in you will see it is mostly the other team
Raiders fans have thrown D-cell batteries at their rivals!
Just in case you were wondering how polite and accomodating they can be.
