This is who KCTV5 got to replace Katie Horner? (video)

Posted by Justin Kendall on Thu, Oct 6, 2011 at 11:46 AM

KCTV5 named Chris Suchan as the station's chief meteorologist. He's in the video above doing the "Suchan Shuffle," which he apparently did before Carolina Panthers football games.

Am I already missing Katie Horner?

First off Gary Amble used to be the Chief Meteorologist however he chose to give it up b/c of the time requirements...choosing to have more of his time with his family. As for Katie, she was great with all her forecasts! All meteorologists are wrong sometimes so wake up. And before you say it, she was not wrong all the time.....not even close. Regarding "face time", seriously?! You actually believe she wants to be away from her family including her kids to be in front of all of KC area for so long just to senualize all storms? Really? Seriously?! And I have no idea what you are talking about when you say the news cast is screaming at you. I have never ever experienced that so you are either watchinf a completely different channel or you have clearly mis-stated the facts. Get it together!

He fits perfectly into the Jarhead mentality of this city.

Channel 9 needs to get some youth. Those old gals on the news have seen better days. One other thing that pisses me off about the news is them asking someone who has lost a loved - one how they feel. At thet time I wish a fist would come into the picture.

They replaced that big mouthed idiot? WHEN? Every time I watch that station, (the programming, I would NEVER watch that sorry excuse for a news program), there's good old screaming Katie telling me that the temperatures are going to fall into the 70's and 80's. (Funny, I thought that's where they have been.) Then the next day there she is again screaming at me that the temperatures are going up to the 70's and 80's. (Still there baby-cakes.) Hey, and it MIGHT rain. (There might be a tornado, or earthquake or typhoon too.) KCTV please do the viewers a favor and do away with your news department. Don't bring it back until you get rid of all those annoying sounds you like to insert between reports and reporters. Get rid of that annoying music you are so fond of. You have never had reporters, just studio announcers and field announcers who try to relate to you what somebody else told them to say. So try this, find some new announcers who can read to you without screaming and yelling. As far as Meteorologists go, skip the fancy crap and again, find someone who can read the copy from the National Weather Service.

I haven't watched our local CBS news channel for a LONG time. The anchors screaming thru the TV with their teasers and Katie Horner and her incessant weather broadcasts...too much for me. And Katie Couric on the CBS national news was not for me, either. But her interview of Sarah Palin was priceless. Since CBS has "fixed" the nationals, here's hoping the local station has fixed the channel newscasts.

You'll have a real hard time getting me to switch from channel 9 news.

That Kerri Stowell is smoking hot!
