Richard Tripp has finally found a home for his fall clothing drive and Thanksgiving feed for Kansas City's homeless. Tripp tells us that Grand Avenue Temple (205 East Ninth Street) will let Tripp set up a giant circus tent for his Survival 11 Homecoming Event to help the homeless. It's a bit of a homecoming: Tripp's nonprofit started at Grand Avenue about 30 years ago.
This year's event is slated for November 26 from noon to 4 p.m.
Tripp still needs help. He's looking for volunteers to help set up on November 25 and serve food on the 26th. He's also looking for donations to help pay for the event as well as blankets, winter clothes, accessories, hygiene products and new toys for children.
Check out his website, Care of Poor People Inc., for more details.
