The dash-cam video of Mizzou football coach Gary Pinkel's DWI arrest was bound to come out. In the video, Pinkel tells the officer that he's "very nervous." He's not the only one. The Boone County Sheriff's deputy seems a bit nervy too.
Pinkel tells the deputy that he had a a couple of "jumbo" glasses of red wine over the course of an hour and a half. Pinkel takes a couple of tests after the deputy asks him his level of education, which Pinkel says he has a Master's degree.
Pinkel fails to recite the alphabet from the letter to "E" to the letter "R." In fact, he says "E-F-G-H-R." On a second try, Pinkel says, "A-B-C-D-E-F-G-H-R." Pinkel asks if he passed the test. The officer responds, "Well, there are other letters between 'H' and 'R.'"
Pinkel is also unable to count backwards from 73 to 62, which he says "I can't do normally, are you kidding me?" Pinkel refuses to take a breath test, and the deputy ends up cuffing him.
Pinkel pleaded guilty Friday to a Class B misdemeanor for driving while intoxicated. He was given a 30-day suspended sentence and will be on two-years probation. He is also suspended for today's game against Texas Tech.
