Kansas City Chiefs claim Kyle Orton

Full steam ahead, indeed.

The Kyle Orton Sweepstakes are over, and Orton is a Kansas City Chief. ESPN reported that the Chiefs claimed Orton from waivers Wednesday, ESPN.com reported.

Orton reportedly wanted to go to the Chicago Bears, who were in need of a quarterback after starter Jay Cutler broke his thumb over the weekend. That isn't happening.

The Chiefs also had a need at quarterback after Matt Cassel suffered a season-ending injury to his throwing hand against Orton's old team, the Denver Broncos. Cassel's season is over, and his backup, Tyler Palko, wasn't exactly impressive in Monday night's 34-3 drubbing by the New England Patriots. Palko served up three interceptions.

Not sure why the Chiefs wouldn't ride out the rest of the season with Palko and Ricky "Captain America" Stanzi, unless the Chiefs aren't willing to admit the rest of the season is lost. The future would seem brighter by sucking for Luck.

At a BIG TIME IA fan I was really hopeing to see Ricky Stanzi get a shot. Ricky has the ability to learn from his mistakes a rare Quality in NFL QBs. But I gess Kyle is a good second best. The most under rated QB in the NFL. He really should change his name to Rodeny.

The Chiefs haven't had a great QBack since Superbowl MVP Len Dawson. Yeah I know we had Joe Montana but how many Champoinship rings with him while he was in KC
Answer : Zero

Could be because the Chiefs are not sold on Cassel in the long run and think Orton is worth a look in auditioning.

Or, maybe they believe in making the moves that may produce a winner this year.

Either way, it is hard to criticize the move.

What's wrong with going for RG III, robert Griffin the Third, More Atheletic to me than Luck and can move out of the pocket and make plays.
