Mizzou will play its final Big 12 game in Shreveport.
  • Mizzou will play its final Big 12 game in Shreveport.
If Mizzou really thinks it's ready for the big time by joining the SEC, they might want to devote some time to meditating over bowl game announcements that came out yesterday. While two of the Tigers' new SEC competitors — Louisiana State and Alabama — will play for the BCS National Championship, Mizzou will take on North Carolina in the Advocare V100 Independence Bowl. The game is scheduled for 5 p.m. December 26 at the Independence Stadium in Shreveport, Louisiana. ESPN2 will broadcast the game.

In case you're curious, Advocare is a vitamin supplement that the FDA has not evaluated. Here is the description from the company's website: "V100™ supplement provides a synergistic combination of vitamins and minerals to help supply the body with the nutritional components it needs to maintain optimal health." The site adds, "Not only is it permissible for NCAA coaches to give to collegiate players, but its individual and convenient packaging allows for worry-free distribution in the locker room."

Mizzou has a rich history of playing in the mediocre 36-year-old bowl.

In 2003, the Tigers lost 27-14 to Arkansas. In 2005, the Tigers beat South Carolina 38-31.

It'll be the third time Mizzou and North Carolina have played each other. The Tigers won both of the previous matchups, with the last meeting in 1976. Both the Tar Heels and Tigers were 7-5 during this season.

Sure and what bowl is KU playing in? How about the Toilet Bowl maybe you and the rest of your KU hack writers could spray yourself with Lysol and attend.

Once and for all this should prove the superiority of the SEC over the ACC.

I think you mean Kansas not KC. KC is actually located in Missouri.

Why are you covering 3rd rate bowls like this when K-State is in the Cotton Bowl.

Or is KC already in denial and pretending it's basketball season?
