Occupy KC protester arrested outside Rep. Vicky Hartzler's office

After more than two months of peaceful, low-drama demonstrations and living at Penn Valley Park, a grand total of zero Occupy Kansas City protesters have been arrested. But when a group of the local occupiers took a bus trip to Washington, D.C., to meet with our elected officials, a man associated with the group was arrested in one day.

The arrest came Tuesday in the office of Missouri's 4th District U.S. Rep. Vicky Hartzler. The video above was shot in the aftermath of the arrest by other Occupy protesters. The person shooting the video appears to be unclear about whether the man being arrested was a part of their group or an independent protester.

Occupy KC protesters are in D.C. as part of the 99 In DC convention, which is calling for the nation's Occupy factions and the so-called 99 percent to converge on the Capitol and meet with elected officials.

The most ironic part of the video is occupiers praising 6th District Republican U.S. Rep. Sam Graves, who, like Hartzler, is fairly conservative. Unlike Hartzler, Graves managed to carve out the time in his schedule to listen to what the Occupy KC contingent had to say.
